Florence Dance Festival at Santa Maria Novella
From July 3rd to August 2nd, the Florence Dance Festival will be held at the Cloister of Santa Maria Novella, partnering with major institutions such as the City of Florence, the Tuscany Region, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, the Department of Live Performance and the Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze Foundation, as well as other leading companies in Tuscany for the international event.
Synagogue Garden: the "Balagan Cafè" dates are back
July 5th and July 26th; August 2nd and August 30th: Apericena from 19.30, conference at 20.30, concert 21.30. The theme of the Balagan Cafè 2018 is "Storytelling"; the Jewish community chose to interpret it as the story of Jewish life in Italy and in Europe in the 20th century, through the narration of the many anniversaries celebrated in 2018. The title of this year's exhibition is: "18: the story of life ", playing on the fact that in the kabbalistic tradition that links words to numbers through the mathematical interpretation of the Hebrew alphabet, 18 is a famous and significant number, corresponding to the word chai, life. The event will begin with the narration of great moments of Italian and European life linked to 2018 by an anniversary: from 1938, the year of the racial laws, to 1948, the year of the Italian Constitution, simultaneously to the birth of Israel; but also coming in '68, and other less known anniversaries.
Every Wednesday, Ganzo Restaurant organizes a special Aperitivo night: AperiGANZO. The Italian style aperitivo buffet full of Italian and International flavors by the Ganzo brigade, with a selection of extraordinary wines from the cellars of the Apicius Friends. On Wednesday July 11th, the AperiGANZO will be transformed into AperiART, with a fine arts opening organized and curated by the Florence University of the Arts students of Gallery and Exhibition Curating course.

On July 12th, the FUA Florence University of the Arts students will present a new photo exhibition by the Photojournalism students of the Summer 2018 session.

Musart Festival SS. Annunziata: Orchestra della Toscana Concert
On Wednesday July 18th at 9:15pm the ORT – Orchestra della Toscana will play George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in blue” and Leonard Bernstein’s “West Side Story”. Timothy Brock will direct the ensemble. At the piano, the Italian Federico Colli. Singers: Eleonora Facchini, Luca Giacomelli Ferrarini, Giuseppe Verzicco, Simona Di Stefano, The Pilgrims Gospel Choir, with the master Gianni Mini.
Themed Dinner at Ganzo prepared by Apicius Students: Sogno di Mezza Estate
A special dinner is prepared every Thursday by our Apicius students: a themed dinner night showcases the ability of the highest level of culinary classes at Apicius International School of Hospitality. On Thursday July 19th, the theme chosen is Sogno di Mezza Estate (Mid-Summer Dream). We’re in the thick of summer and temperatures are running high. We’re dreaming of something to cool us down with a menu that is sure to refresh the palate. The Ganzo brigade will present a night of culinary artistry and fine wine from the cellars of the Apicius friends.
