Tomás Saraceno Exhibit at Palazzo Strozzi

Contemporary Argentinian artist, Tomás Saraceno, is bringing his immersive art exhibit to Florence soon. From February 22nd until July 19th, his work will be available to the public at Palazzo Strozzi, in Florence. You can visit the exhibit between 10am to 8pm every day, and from 10am to 11pm on Thursdays. His art mirrors spider webs and dust particles as he attempts to display a connection with unearthly substances. Saraceno suggests a deep, metaphorical link exists between man and the universe – a new harmony.

Florentine New Year: Feast of the Annunciation

Florence celebrates the arrival of Spring with a parade from Palazzo Vecchio to Piazza Santissima Annunziata. Catholic tradition stated that the new year was to start on March 25th, the day the Virgin Mary was told she would give birth to the son of God. Today, the beginning of spring remains significant as evidenced by the Feast of the Annunciation, a traditional festival. Pay a visit to the towering arches of the Santissima Annunziata Church, which intricately detail the Virgin Mary on the momentous occasion. Or, head to Piazza Santissima Annunziata to taste brigidini at the market, along with other handmade goods. Welcome Spring by taking part in this uniquely Florentine event!

AperiArt at Ganzo: Serena Sarti Exhibit

There are few things more enjoyable than food, wine and art. At Ganzo, the FUA-AUF school restaurant, you can enjoy all three at once! Alongside the decadent buffet and wine selections is an interactive art gallery space, open to the public. The Serena Sarti exhibit will open on Wednesday, March 5th at 6pm. The Florentine artist is known for her photographic work, video/musical performances, and set and costume designs. Old and new works will be on display. An occasion to give art-goers and food lovers a proper taste of Florence.
